Acceptance.

The past couple of days have flipped my world on it's side. I can't deny that I have been a bit bummed out. After days of chasing every resource I've had, it seems that I need to leave Madrid. And quickly.

My visit to the US Embassy not only proved unhelpful in getting a work permit, but I also learned all about the Schengen visa Treaty. The agreement states that the 90 days that I am allowed here did not restart once I left Portugal and came to Spain, which I assumed it had. It turns out that my visa covers a total of 90 consecutive days in any of the EU countries as a whole. And those 90 consecutive days can only be every six months. So with that said, because I arrived in Lisboa on January 2nd, I have until April 1st at the latest to hop a plane back home.

I cannot tell a lie. I am super sad and have been spending the past couple of days trying to reach a level of acceptance…
